Collecting a COMPLETE POKEDEX of Pokémon Cards Around Japan!

Have you ever dreamed of traveling around Japan and hunting for rare Pokémon cards? Well, that’s exactly what my friend RealBreakingNate and I did! We spent an entire week visiting countless card stores across Tokyo, Nagoya, and Kyoto, all in the name of completing the National Pokédex of Pokémon cards. Our adventure was filled with excitement, challenges, and incredible discoveries.

Our Journey Begins

From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the historic beauty of Kyoto, every stop was an opportunity to uncover hidden gems in the world of Pokémon cards. We tackled stacks of cards in secondhand stores, stumbled upon rare finds in some of the country's most iconic card stores, and even visited some secret card shops known only to the most dedicated collectors. Each city had its own unique charm and a plethora of cards from different generations and sets, ranging from vintage to modern.

The Challenge

To make things more interesting, Nate and I decided to keep our binders a secret from each other. We have one week to complete the binder, and I think both of us TRULY underestimated how hard it would be to find one of each individual Pokémon. We also introduced challenges along the way that could potentially set us back in our quest to complete our binders. These challenges added an extra layer of excitement and unpredictability to our journey. Would we be able to find that elusive card, or would a challenge force us to hand over a card to our opponent?

Hidden Treasures

One of the highlights of our trip was discovering rare cards that aren’t even available in English. These treasures made our binders even more special and showcased the diverse world of Pokémon cards. From holographic first editions to exclusive Japanese promos, our collections grew more impressive with each store we visited.

The Big Reveal

After a week of intense card hunting, it was finally time to reveal our binders. We met up and unveiled our stunning collections filled with Pokémon cards from all over Japan. Anticipation and excitement filled the air as we calculated our points determined who had won the challenge. It was a trip of a lifetime, and the memories we created will last forever.
